Chief Staff Officer
ASHRAE seeks an accomplished and strategic executive to serve as its next Chief Staff Officer (CSO). The new CSO will have the opportunity to lead one of the world’s most respected professional societies while helping to shape the future of the built environment through technical excellence, innovation, sustainability, and global engagement.
Founded in 1894, ASHRAE is an international professional society with more than 55,000 members in over 135 countries. Dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, ASHRAE develops globally recognized standards and guidance, conducts and funds research, publishes industry-leading technical resources, and delivers world-class educational programs and conferences. Through its member-driven governance structure and global network of professionals, ASHRAE serves humanity by advancing a healthy and sustainable built environment for all.
ASHRAE’s next Chief Staff Officer will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the Board of Directors and volunteer leadership while providing operational leadership to a professional staff of approximately 130 employees. The CSO will play a critical role in ensuring that the Society continues to deliver exceptional value to members through effective governance support, operational excellence, innovation, and strategic execution. This individual will help lead the organization through an important period of growth and transformation, particularly as ASHRAE expands its global footprint, advances building decarbonization initiatives, and modernizes the delivery of its unparalleled technical content and intellectual property.
The Chief Staff Officer will oversee the implementation of the Society's strategic priorities, support the continued growth and diversification of revenue streams, and champion new approaches to content delivery, including the application of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Working closely with volunteer leaders, industry partners, and global stakeholders, the CSO will help ensure that ASHRAE remains the leading authority in building sciences while continuing to expand its influence, relevance, and impact worldwide. The position is based at ASHRAE headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
