The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) seeks a Chief Human Resources Officer / Chief People Officer (CHRO/CPO), a senior executive leader and trusted strategic partner to the CEO, COO and matrix and cross-functional leadership team. This role provides vision, direction, and hands-on leadership for all human resources functions at ASCE, including talent acquisition and retention, organizational design and restructuring, compensation and benefits, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, HR compliance, and HR technology. The CHRO/CPO ensures that the people strategy is deeply integrated with and actively supports the Society's organizational strategic plan, enabling every department to hire, develop, and retain the talent needed to deliver on the ASCE's mission.

Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation's oldest and most prestigious engineering society, representing more than 160,000 civil engineers worldwide. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia with an office in Washington, DC, ASCE advances the civil engineering profession by serving members, informing the public, and engaging government and industry to address the infrastructure challenges facing our nation and the world. Through its advocacy, technical publications, professional development programs, and rigorous infrastructure report card work, the Society is a vital voice in shaping policy and practice across transportation, water, energy, and the built environment. ASCE has a budget of $60 Million and a staff of 253 and operates in hybrid/remote environment.

This leader will bring strong analytical capabilities, a strategic enterprise mindset, and the operational fluency to both shape policy and execute effectively.
