The EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) seeks an accomplished and forward-thinking financial and operational leader to serve as its new Director of Operations & Finance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to strengthen EMDRIA’s financial and operational infrastructure at an important point in the organization’s growth and evolution while helping build the systems, processes, and team structure needed to support its future.

EMDRIA is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit professional association with a $6.5 million operating budget and more than 20,000 members and is the original membership organization for clinicians trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDRIA is committed to advancing the highest standards for the clinical use of EMDR therapy while supporting the professional development, education, and connection of its members. The EMDRIA Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) organization that shares a Board of Directors with EMDRIA, serves as the organization’s charitable arm and advances research, education, and access to EMDR therapy.

EMDRIA’s next Director of Operations & Finance will serve as a strategic financial and operational partner to the CEO and leadership team, with responsibility for finance, HR/People Operations, event operations, vendor management, and shared administrative support. The Director will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, reserves and investment oversight, and long-term financial planning while helping leadership evaluate financial and resource tradeoffs and maintain EMDRIA’s long-term financial sustainability.

This newly designed leadership role offers a significant opportunity to assess and strengthen EMDRIA’s existing financial and operational practices and build infrastructure for the organization’s next phase. The Director will introduce scalable best practices, leverage technology and automation, evaluate the appropriate balance between internal and external resources, strengthen vendor and contract management, and develop shared services that allow teams across EMDRIA to focus on mission-critical work. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable thinking strategically and working hands-on as the organization builds the systems and capacity needed for the future.
