The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) seeks a Chief Learning & Strategy Officer (CLSO) to lead the development, delivery, and growth of its education portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CLSO will translate organizational strategy into high-quality learning programs, new educational products, and partnerships that advance the profession and support sustainable revenue.

AANA is an international professional association dedicated to advancing minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery through education, research, and advocacy. Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, AANA supports surgeons and other medical professionals with hands-on training, continuing education, and resources designed to improve patient outcomes.

Education is at the center of AANA’s work. Its programs include surgical skills courses and simulation at the Orthopaedic Learning Center, an annual scientific meeting, online learning, and continuing medical education. The association also supports scientific exchange and professional development through research, publications, and collaboration with orthopaedic partners.

The CLSO will oversee a four-person education team and work closely with volunteer leaders, faculty, staff, and external partners. This leader will be responsible for education strategy, clinical learning innovation, accreditation, financial performance, and effective delivery of AANA’s education initiatives.

AANA has approximately 5,700 members in nearly 80 countries, a 14-member Board of Directors, and 15 member committees. Its staff includes 21 full-time professionals, and the association has a budget of approximately nine million. The position is based at AANA’s Rosemont, Illinois headquarters, with a hybrid schedule requiring two days per week on site.
