Christina Wurster Returns to Heart Rhythm Society

The Heart Rhythm Society has named Christina Wurster, CAE, its next CEO. She will assume the role in March 2026, joining HRS at a pivotal moment in the organization’s  journey to end death and suffering due to heart rhythm disorders. Wurster will succeed Patricia Blake, FASAE, CAE, who retired at the end of 2025.

Wurster is rejoining HRS, where she was previously chief strategy officer before becoming CEO at the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. During her five years at SMFM, Wurster’s member-centered leadership approach resulted in a membership increase of 40 percent and operating budget growth of 160 percent. The organization also launched its first peer-reviewed journal, Pregnancy, and broadened advocacy efforts to elevate the voice of maternal fetal medicine professionals worldwide.

Blake’s tenure included guiding HRS through the COVID-19 pandemic, growing membership by more than 30 percent, increasing HRS’s global impact, and diversifying revenue.

Vetted Solutions was honored to partner with HRS on the executive search.
