Panorama Report Underscores Strategic Governance Challenges for Family Businesses

Leaders of membership associations and other organizations that serve family-owned enterprises will gain insights from a recent study by global search firm network Panorama. Panorama Global Survey 2025—Widening the Governance Lens: A New Horizon for Family Businesses reports on areas of growing strategic importance to leaders of family-owned organizations in India, the UK and Europe, North America, and Latin America. Vetted Solutions is a member of Panorama.

Eighty-nine percent of responding leaders reported having some form of formal governing structure in place, with larger organizations more likely than smaller to have prioritized structured governance. However, among those, 63 percent  believe that they are only partially prepared for the future and have important gaps to address.

According to the survey, primary governance challenges among family-owned enterprises, which generate 70–80 percent of global GDP and 60 percent of global employment, are:

·         Resolving conflicts and ensuring smooth decision making: 27 percent

·         Strengthening accountability, transparency, and compliance: 17 percent
